Using Lightning in Thunderbird (under Ubuntu)

I’m happy using Thunderbird as my email client. And I also like the idea of having my calendar and tasks running alongside it. That’s through Lightning, an add-on provided by Mozilla.

However, installing Lightning is not a seamless one. I had to uninstall the add-on first and install a deb package called libstdc++5. Then reinstalling the add-on makes my email/calendar life back on.

This link provides more information on the add-on install: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/lightning/system-requirements.html#linux

Tennix Champ

After days of playing Tennix (Tennis on Unix [?]) on my Ubuntu Hardy box, I finally zoomed to the expert level by beating the computer 6:0 6:0 6:0. Whoa, it’s a triple bagel!

However, I can’t even make a bagel from my 9-year-old son, with whom I already played several matches (of Tennix). He even managed to pull a set from me.

Here’s wishing that someday, I would finally hold a real tennis racket and slam that ball every now and then.
